I have admired the inherent strength of the ancient art of our ancestors from the continent of Africa and from the civilizations of early Mexico. The African inspired collection borrows from North African textile motifs from Tunisia as well as West African Adinkra symbols from Ghana and other west coast countries.
The Mexican inspired collection brings together different graphic elements from various ancient Mexican civilizations to make new statements and patterns. I am not presenting these designs as a lesson in art history. You don’t have to be African American or Mexican American to appreciate these graphic designs. Look for more in the near future.
